This week second graders synthesized their civic learning about roles, rights, and responsibilities using Adobe Spark Video. Students identified specific roles, rights, and responsibilities in locations around Gold Rush. Then as writers they took the time to pick out meaningful teaching graphics, wrote essential ideas in captions, and then elaborated on the ideas when they added their voices to the slides.

See sample presentations by our 2nd graders below.

Using a google document students recorded their observations about their historical artifact from home. They learned how to access documents from Google Classroom, create a google document in Google Drive, aka their Digital Desk, name and share a document, and collaborate on a google document digitally with a small group. See below as one third graders describes our work together.

This week we used Seesaw as a way for students to demonstrate their understanding of

Technology Co Teaching Celebrations
Based on feedback from our Tech Committee, we will share highlights from our co-teaching weeks on the Barker to expose staff to various digital tools and the content they are rooted in.

Fifth Grade students created Google Slides presentations to synthesize their learning about the importance of having a Growth Mindset and to teach others what a Growth Mindset is. In addition to learning best practices about the content, formatting, and presentation of Google Slides, students used the extension Screencastify to publish their presentation in a digital way. This allows 5th graders to reach and teach a greater audience. Below is a sample presentation created this week.
