New Calendar in
2017-2018
The School Advisory Councils from each of the Legend High
School Feeder Schools came together on Wednesday evening to discuss the
potential of a calendar change for all feeder schools in 2017-2018. A modified conventional calendar that
included a week off for Thanksgiving break was proposed after several issues
with the current split modified calendar were identified. As you may recall, the split-modified
calendar presented academic and extracurricular conflicts for secondary
students and challenged all schools ability to adhere to hiring timelines and
provide professional development opportunities throughout the school year. After reviewing faculty and community survey
data, each of the School Advisory Councils unanimously approved the new
modified conventional calendar for 2017-2018.
It was determined that this calendar would not be adopted next year to
support those families who already made travel plans based on the split
modified calendar. Click
