The Library will be closed from Nov. 6 at 2:30 through November 13 due to the book fair.  Please do not send regular classes or students for checkout or book returns.

Reminders:
* Teachers in grades 3-5, please let Libby know a time that would work for your team to go over PARCC accommodations.

* If you have READ Act students, progress monitoring information is due every three weeks. Please have this information uploaded by Friday, November 13^th. Please ask Janet or Libby if you have any questions.

* CITE Standard 4 Evidence was due on Friday.  If you haven't uploaded it already please complete this asap.  Click here for examples.  
* If you have extra Halloween candy please donate it to our staff development candy jar.
* Please complete the online Epipen training by November 20th. You will receive 1 credit for
   completing this course.  Click here for access to the link, click on the staff training tab and enter the    password = community.


Update on 2016-2017 Calendar 
Legend feeder will no longer explore the proposed Conventional Calendar - Thanksgiving Week Off option for 2016-2017.  District administration reviewed the policy for a calendar change and determined that because all schools did not received above a 60% vote in favor of the proposed calendar change we do not have enough support to move forward.  They were also concerned about families that made travel arrangements for next year based on the existing calendar.  Thank you for providing your input in this decision! It was greatly appreciated!

Patti Magby
Libby, Kristi, Jenny and office staff met with Patti Magby, Jenny's maternity leave sub, last Friday.  Patti is excited to spend 2-3 days each week at Gold Rush.  She reassured us all that she is here to support our existing work.  Our school will host a welcome breakfast for her on Monday, November 16, at 8:15-8:45 in the lounge. 

Opportunity

Rachael Humphries is currently a student at UNC and would like to complete her student teaching at Gold Rush. She is interested in first and second grade. If you are interested in having a student teacher please let Libby know.
